How young are you feeling?

Age can be a sensitive subject, but when you reflect on how old you feel it can really help you make things a damn sight clearer.

Joseph Pilates once said;

"If your spine is stiff at 30, you are old. If it is flexible at 60, you are young."

I believe this goes beyond the physical feeling, and beyond just the spine.

Not sure about you, but I never feel older than when I feel stiff, tired or under the weather.

On the flip side, feeling youthful comes from being able to truly enjoy the activities you love.  Moving freely, no pain or restrictions.  Feeling strong and powerful, mentally and physically.

Focusing on that youthful feeling not only wipes out any concern about the actual number of years you've been knocking about, it helps prioritise your time.

When you think about how you want your life to look, both now and in the future, suddenly keeping great movement and maintaining that youthful feeling becomes the "Number One" goal.

Without great movement you can't play with your kids or grandkids the same way.  You can't explore the trails on a run in the same way.  You can't be free to choose what activities you enjoy.

You become a prisoner in your own body.  Limited by the movement you have access to.

When great movement becomes your top goal, everything becomes simpler too. Because when you have a clear goal, action is 100x easier to take.

Your Pilates sessions are the path to that goal.  Pilates provides you with freedom in your movement. Freedom to enjoy.  Freedom to do the activities you love. Now and years into the future.

It keeps you moving your best, and enjoying your life to the fullest.  Knowing you're helping your running in the short term, AND creating a body fit to enjoy every aspect of life in the long term 🙌
